TORRANCE, Calif., Dec. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Emmaus Medical, Inc., a Torrance, California based pharmaceutical company, announced today that it has entered into an exclusive sublicense agreement with Cato BioVentures of Research Triangle Park, North Carolina for the patent protected drug NutreStore(TM) brand L-Glutamine. Under this agreement, Emmaus will commercialize NutreStore(TM), which is approved by the FDA for use in combination with human growth hormone as a treatment for short bowel syndrome (SBS). Sprinkles of rain gently pepper your head as you thread your way across the parking lot pushing a cart full of groceries. The liftgate of your minivan promises to provide the shelter you need to unload the cart and stay dry. But just as you swing a 40-pound sack of dog food off the cart, your forehead smacks right into the slowly descending liftgate. The dog food is on the pavement and you've got a nasty bruise. That's the subtle way your minivan lets you know the gas struts that hold up the liftgate have finally lost their zest for lift. A sobering St. Paddy's Day conflict?
Patrick's Day parade in Hermosa Beach, which is historically the weekend closest to March 17. This year's festivities are scheduled for March 15 in downtown Hermosa. The conflict over Holy Week wasn't an issue in this year's planning, said Community Resources Director Lisa Lynn. As cold and snowy as it's been recently, you can still see Bethany Brewster running outside in Madison. Sometimes twice a day. She competed in the U.S. Olympic trials four years ago in the 1,500-meter event, setting a personal-best time in the semi-finals of 4 minutes, 11.18 seconds, but then missing a chance to make the Olympic team by finishing 13th in the finals at the trials. .
