Critical moment for Africa as SADC, COMESA, EAC are all lined to sign ...

Tanzania and Zambia have enjoyed very good diplomatic relations and have undertaken joint projects. Can you explain the economic cooperation existing between the two countries?

A: Zambia and Tanzania have enjoyed very good diplomatic relations which date way back from the time the two countries got independence under the able leaderships of Kenneth Kaunda of Zambia and Julius Kambarage Nyerere of Tanzania.

Because of the good relations the two countries enjoyed, joint projects were initiated, put in place and implemented for the benefit of the two nations` peoples.

Some of the notable projects that the two countries entered into were the Tanzania Zambia Railway Authority (TAZARA), Tanzania Zambia Mafuta (TAZAMA) and the Tanzania Zambia Highway (TANZAM).

Keep Unborn Baby Healthy: Dos and Don'ts

Although there is no way to guarantee that your baby will be born 100 percent healthy, expecting mothers can take certain steps to reduce the risk of some physical and intellectual abnormalities.

The National Women's Health Information Center and AVSC International, an organization that promotes reproductive health care worldwide, give some tips for pregnant women: Visit a health-care provider in the first trimester of your pregnancy, and then at regular intervals until you give birth.

Contact your insurance provider or, if you don't have one, contact your local family or social services for health insurance options.

Eat healthy foods. Your doctor may instruct you with some specific nutrition guidelines.

Get regular physical activity.

Under the Hood With Knight Rider 2.0: Trans Am vs. Ford Mustang ...

One of the cooler features of the Mustang KITT is air-ride suspension, which allows its driver to lower the car's ride height when the vehicle morphs from Hero to Attack mode. "When it goes on the offensive, it gets slammed to the ground," Moser chuckles. Very aggressive, indeed. There will be three models used in filming: Hero (essentially a stock GT500KR); Attack (the tricked-out model); and Remote Control (operated via RC, obviously). "All of the ‘transforming' will be done through CGI animation like in the Transformers movie," Moser admits. (Click here for behind-the-scenes digital wizardry from this summer's blockbuster flick.) For all you Trans Am holdouts, Mustang droolers and Hasselhoff haters, here's the very first look at all of the new KITT's gee-whiz specs and functionality, matched up to the original to determine which is better equipped for Hollywood crime-fighting.

RBA expected to lift rates

So the decision was taken, that why let the general public and financial markets wait almost another day to hear the result. They may as well announce it as soon as the board meeting's over.

"Hence the 2:30pm AEDT announcement time."

'I married a gay man'

"You have chlamydia," my obstetrician told me as I lay on the examining table, six months pregnant with my fourth child. "You've got to talk to your husband." I was in total disbelief. "This is impossible," I protested. "We're both monogamous." But of course I knew that wasn't really true, and the doctor's words forced me to finally acknowledge what I'd suspected for a long time: My husband was most likely gay.

When I confronted my husband, Chris (not his real name), with my test results that night, he denied he was to blame. "They've got to be wrong, or I must have picked up something in the gym," he insisted. "I haven't done anything wrong." Instead of arguing about how I felt or figuring out how I wanted to handle the larger issue, I focused on what I needed at that moment — to take medicine and get healthy — much as I had throughout our rocky marriage.

Senator Harkin Responds To Bush's Backward-Thinking Budget Proposal

Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Tom Harkin (D-IA) today discussed the impact President Bush's budget proposal would have on Iowans and Americans. Harkin leads the Senate Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry committee as well as the appropriations subcommittee that funds health and education initiatives - both jurisdictions received major cuts in Bush's budget.

“It is clear that Iowans and Americans are desperate for a new direction for our country. Regrettably, President Bush's budget proposal is more of the same, pushing our country backward as he has for the past seven years," said Harkin. “He proposes deep cuts to programs that Americans rely upon, programs that protect our seniors, educate our kids and strengthen communities of every size. While slashing programs for low and middle income families, the President insists on extending his tax giveaways to the wealthiest Americans.

Study says obese diabetics may be helped by surgery

Obese diabetic patients who underwent weight loss surgery were found to be five times more likely to gain control over their condition as opposed to people who did not go for the surgery. The study involved 60 obese patients with type 2 diabetes. Lead researcher Dr John Dixon and colleagues set out to analyze the benefits of stomach banding surgery on type 2 diabetes. All participants in the study had a body mass index greater than 30, but lower than 40. Any person having a BMI of over 30 is considered to be clinically obese. The participants were either allocated to the surgery group or the conventional therapy group, which stressed on diet and lifestyle changes. Overall 26 study participants or 43 percent experienced remission from diabetes at the end of two years. However 73 percent or 22 of the 30 in the surgery group experienced remission as compared to 13 percent or 4 out of 30 people in the conventional-therapy group.
